This is a tournament I have never followed too closely in the past but I am really enjoying this years event so far.

Looking at the forthcoming matches does anyone agree that Nigeria look well placed to win against South Africa.

It is a crucial game for Nigeria after their first game dissapointment against Morocco and surely their squad has too much strength for a South Africa team missing most of its top names due to behind the scenes fall outs.

South Africa's 2-0 defeat of Benin (the squirrels) looks OK on paper but having watched the match lowly Benin were on top early in the second half and should have pressed home their advantage but for woeful finishing.

my knowledge of the teams is at best limited, but i d take the handicap in favour of south africa if i had too, a much more powerfull nation state in africa, much better organised and with some good back up in the local and international footballing organisation, nigeria is in decline imo and south africa where half decent in the recent world cup, but of course like i said my knowledge and expertise are insignificanct here and i have neither followed this cup on tv (well, i ve watched the occasional game or two without paying too close an attention) nor read on the squads strengths and weaknesses. bol jip.
